| Aim
of SCC Programmes |
|
The
SSC services primarily play three roles : Preventive, Complementary
and Developmental |
|
| |
Preventive |
| |
School-age
children may be left alone to look after themselves when their parents
are at work. The SSC helps to provide constructive activities and
adult guidance for these children. The SSC also provides a healthy
environment whereby their energy is channelled into meaningful activities. |
|
| |
Complementary |
| |
The
SSC services complement but not substitute the care role of working
parents. It relieves the working parents of their care tasks so that
they can be free of worry at work. Parents can have peace of mind
that their children are taken care of with adult supervision when
they place their school-going children at Rotary - Ayer Rajah SSC. |
|
| |
Developmental |
| |
School-age
children are in their middle childhood. The developmental needs of
middle childhood cover physical, cognitive, social, emotional, moral
and spiritual aspects. The SSC takes into consideration the overall
developmental needs of the children when planning its programmes with
a holistic approach. |
